Take a look into the world of silversmithing
How special is it to see a silversmith at work? That doesn't happen often. Most of the time, jewelry is created quietly, behind the workbench in the studio. That's exactly why I especially enjoy that visitors to the Wonderkamers get to take a look into my world.
In the Wonderkamers of the Kunstmuseum Den Haag, I can be seen working on a piece of jewelry. You see how an idea slowly transforms into a tangible design, and how much attention, patience and craftsmanship go into it.
For me, a piece of jewelry is much more than just the end result. The story lies precisely in the making process: the sawing, filing, soldering and finishing, until everything is just right. Being able to share this special craft with visitors in this way is a great honor to me.
