Would you like to discover for yourself how a piece of jewelry is made? Poelie regularly gives workshops and metalsmithing classes in The Hague for both beginners and experienced participants. In her own studio, you'll get acquainted with the craft and start making jewelry yourself.
As a certified goldsmith, trained at the Vakschool in Schoonhoven and with more than 30 years of experience, Poelie shares her knowledge and passion for the craft. With personal guidance, you'll work step by step on your own piece of jewelry and discover the joy of metalsmithing.
From the initial design to your own handmade piece of jewelry
In the extensive 12-lesson course, you'll get acquainted with the world of metalsmithing and work step by step on your own unique piece of jewelry. You'll start with a design and learn how to translate it into a tangible end result: from shaping metal to carefully finishing your handmade creation.
Under Poelie’s personal guidance, you’ll discover various techniques used in goldsmithing, such as sawing, filing, soldering, and polishing. You’ll learn the basic skills and become familiar with gemstone settings and various metalworking techniques.
The course is suitable for both beginners and advanced students. You’ll work with examples, but you’ll have plenty of room to explore your own ideas and designs. With a maximum of 10 participants, you’ll receive plenty of personal attention and guidance as you create your piece of jewelry step by step.

Custom-made jewelry for the musical AIDA
2023 - 2024 AFAS Circustheater Scheveningen
Poelie made the jewelry for the leading roles in Disney's AIDA the Musical in close consultation with the office in London.
For Radames (Naidjim Severina) and Zoser (Robin van den Akker), she handcrafted a collar and a brooch featuring the iconic "Eye of Horus."
In Ancient Egyptian mythology, this eye refers to the feminine sun and offers protection.
This unique jewelry was featured on stage, in promotional materials, and in the musical's TV commercial.
